WARNING!!! Rebtel Android Intercept Not Working on Android OS 15 and Above

Why is Rebtel's Android Intercept not working on Android OS 15 and above?

Rebtel's Android Intercept feature is not functioning as expected on devices running Android OS 15 and newer. This is due to recent changes in Android’s coding and security policies, which restrict certain background functionalities that our intercept feature relies on.

What does this mean for Rebtel users?

If you are using an Android device with OS version 15 or higher, Rebtel may not automatically intercept and route your calls as before. This means that international calls may be placed through your default mobile carrier instead, potentially resulting in unexpected charges.

How can I avoid unexpected charges?

To prevent any unintended charges, we recommend the following:

  1. Use Rebtel’s In-App Calling – Always place your international calls directly from the Rebtel app to ensure they are properly routed.

  2. Monitor Your Call Logs – Regularly review your call history to confirm that calls are being placed via Rebtel and not through your carrier.

  3. Disable the Intercept Feature in Rebtel App – If you previously relied on the Intercept feature, manually disable it in the Rebtel app settings to prevent any confusion or unintended routing.

Will Rebtel fix this issue in future updates?

We are actively exploring possible solutions to maintain the best calling experience for our users. However, due to restrictions imposed by Android OS 15 and beyond, some features may not be possible to restore in the same way as before.

What should I do if I’ve already been charged for a call I expected to be routed through Rebtel?

Rebtel is not liable for charges incurred due to calls that were not intercepted. It is the user's responsibility to verify how their calls are being placed. We strongly advise users to check their call routing method before making international calls.

How will Rebtel notify users about this issue?

We are sending notifications via the Rebtel app and push notifications to inform users of these changes. If you see a notification regarding Android Intercept changes, please read it carefully to avoid any misunderstandings.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate these Android system changes. If you have further questions, please contact Rebtel support for assistance.
